History

Chard Churches Together is the local expression of “Churches Together in England”, a national movement of church traditions which was founded in 1990. The Chard group meets regularly, with representation at a leadership level. We encourage churches to relate together and join in shared witness to Jesus Christ, enjoying the elements of our shared faith which promote mutual support and encouragement.

Over the years, Chard Churches Together has inspired or overseen numerous projects, including Messy Church, Lord’s Larder food bank, Street Pastors, the Streetspace detached youth outreach, school assemblies and Christian clubs, celebrations and events at key points in the church calendar, and numerous “one-off” activities. Recent developments include an outreach to HM Prison Exeter.
